As we age, our metabolisms begin to decelerate. Unfortunately with many people, as they age, their activity levels also lessen. So there is a double concern of slower metabolisms and less activity.

So there is a double concern of slower metabolisms and less exercise. The most simple, easiest way of speeding up the body's metabolism is by eating little, balanced and delicious meals or snacks each 3 to four hours. Eating every three to four hours equates to about five or six small meals or snacks a day, instead of the normal, ( and flawed ) three squares that we were tricked into believing was best. This one tiny step of eating every three to four hours will change your body for the better more so than any other thing that you learn from this book. At first you'll have to probably force feed your body to eat every 3 to four hours, but after a week or two, it becomes habit. You can make any routine a habit in just a couple of weeks or so ( sadly it's right with bad habits too ). Eat regularly and in small amounts, just enough so that you are not hungry again until another 3 to four hours. Eat a small, healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then have a little snack between breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, and between dinner and bedtime. That comes out to six tiny meals. the neat thing about eating each 3 to 4 hours, besides the fact that it's advantageous for your constitution, is that it essentially makes it seem you are eating more food than normal. Psychologically you don't feel deprived of anything because it seems you are eating more often. If you eat each three to four hours, you do not build up hunger, so you are less sure to eat big amounts of food. Eating every 3 to four hours also causes concern for some folk who are not aware of the benefits of eating small meals frequently. Many of us are misinformed and think that eating often will lead to weight gain. This is only true if you are eating frequently and are eating more than your daily calorie wishes. Some people think that the less you eat and the less frequently you eat, that might create more chance of weight loss. Naturally, now you know that's not the case. It's all based upon the speeding up of your body's metabolism and the potency in which it burns off calories. This one change may help you with fat loss more so than any other. As much as eating 3 squares a day has become habit since youth, eating 6 smaller, balanced and tasty snacks / meals each day can become habit as well .
